In its
report into events at the Hillcroft-Throstle Grove care home in Lancaster, the
Commission found the service to have failed to comply with:
- safeguarding (major impact)
- supporting staff (minor impact)
- assessing and monitoring the quality of service provision (moderate impact).
The
commission lists in the lessons to be learned from this appalling case, that:
"Wider
inclusion of family and friends views about a service ... would provide a more
accurate reflection on whether the home is providing safe, effective,
compassionate high quality care."
